I never really thought I would end up in radio. Writing is my first love and I wanted to write the Great American novel. I have a BA in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. After college, my first grown-up job was in Harrisburg, as an Associate Editor for TV Host magazine. I got to interview Oscar-Winner Marlee Matlin and then I got to write a cover story about Ricky Martin and the Spanish Revolution in music at the time.
Then the magazine got bought out and folded.
After that, I thought about going back to school for graphic and web design, but I was already in debt. So began my year of having five jobs: From Burger King to freelance writing for the Lebanon Daily News to bartending... I was hopping every night of the week with a different job! And then, finally, I got a part-time job at WQIC in Lebanon. It was bascially "running the board" for sporting games, from high school football and basketball to the Phillies, the Eagles and Notre Dame. Then I got to fill in on the air when the full-time staff went on vacation.
And this is when I learned I couldn't say DOUBLE U correctly. Kind of an important letter in broadcasting LOL
Fast forward to now... I worked my way up and ended up here at WLEV. I am the WebMaster for both WLEV and CAT Country 96. I also do traffic on both stations in the afternoon, and I fill in when people go on vacation.
Besides writing, my other passion is comic books. I am addicted to X-men and Green Lantern right now. My favorite Xman is Psylocke and my favorite Green Lantern is Hal Jordan. However, if I were going to dress up for Halloween as a comic book character, I would be Phoenix aka Jean Grey. She's got the red hair and she doesn't always dress in spandex, so I could wear leather instead LOL Hey, it's Halloween! :)
